Nagarjuna is RGV's Raavan Hyderabad: Ram Gopal Varma has done it again. Controversies favourite child is in the news again for his version of Ramayanam. The acclaimed maker has zeroed in superstar Nagarjuna to play the role of Raavan Raju in his Ramayanam.
Confirming this Varma took to social networking site twitter and said, 'Nagarjuna is playing the role of Raavan Raju in Ram Gopal Varma's Ramayanam and other cast details will be out soon'.
'Varma shares a good rapport with Nagarjuna as they've done three films together; hence it was not a difficult task for Varma to rope in Nag.
And in the meantime, Nag is itching to do different roles considering the films that he is choosing off late,' said an insider from the industry.
Denying reports that he is parodying the epic Ramayana, Ramu, as he's famously called in Mumbai, has hit out at his critics by saying that his version of Ramayana will be as serious drama as it can be and promised that it will be on the lines of his acclaimed hit Sarkar. He also clarified that no religious sentiments would be hurt.
The filmmaker, who is busy with his production, Bezawada starring Nag's son, Naga Chaitanya in the lead is in plans to release Ramayanam on the occasion of Sri Ramanavami next year.
