Film titles getting shorter Hyderabad: Film titles are getting funnier, day by day and there is a pattern set to it. Human tendency is to follow the leader (read successful film).
After mouthful of names, films are going agog a with two letter titles, Panjaa being the latest.
Rakhi, Kikku, Shakti, King to name a few in this genre. Earlier, it was Samarasimha Reddy, Paramaveerachakra and the like. Opening lines of old songs had been the craze during one period and director Jandyala made the best use of melodies like Aha Na Pellanta, Chupulu Kalasina Subhavela and the like.
With hero oriented films being order of the day the titles too changed like Pokiri, Magadheera, Leader and the like to suit the hero. These films have only one point agenda.
The hero is supreme and he should be projected at any cost and in all sequences. Should he be snubbed for a while on the comedy track, a matching scene with double the vigour should be included in the film.
Priyudu, 100% Love, Oh My Friend are some of the soft titles. Taglines have become order of the day for some time. On the whole in Tollywood good titles are always wide and far between.
