Three below par films this week Hyderabad, Dec 17 (INN): Three films were released this week which can be termed as below par. With all the big pictures winding up production work for the harvest festival, this week has seen Journey, Rathi Nirvedam and Duniya.
Rati Nirvedam, starring Shweta Menon and Sreith Vijay is a remake of the Malayalam classic of the same name. Jayabharati played the role of the sensuous and voluptuous lead role in the original version.
The 1978 classic may not sound effective to the contemporary audience and K Raiv Kumar has little to do with it.
Journey is the dubbed version of Tamil film Engeyum Eppothum. Directed by S Sarvananan the film has Sharwvananad,Ananya and Jai and has a compact story line with the film being the journey of people travelling in two buses travelling between Vijayawada and Hyderabad either way. The film is rated to be above average, but being dubbing film it is stands as an alien stuff.
Duniya is a feeble attempt on terrorism abetted from across the border but lack of experience shows off. However, it is a great effort by the new artistes and director LK Rao. K Geeta Sri is producer of the film.
