Manchu Lakshmi goes to Kollywood
Hyderabad: Manchu Lakshmi is also going with the stream. With youngsters RaNa Daggupati and Naga Chaitanya toeing the Tamil line the Manchu lady too is following the same course.
However, Lakshmi has a plum of an offer as the film she is acting in happens to be a Mani Ratnam film named Pookadai which has Karthik's son Goutam in the lead role.
Lakshmi plays a village belle role in this film. It remains to be seen how she suits to the role as she always has had a heavy urban accent and body language.
'It's a rural subject and I play a pucca Tamil girl. The role will be quite challenging because I have to learn the correct diction first. I will start shooting from January and I'm eagerly looking forward to it,' Lakshmi said adding that she was proud to enter Kollywood debut with Manirathnam.
After reading the script two months back, she liked it and playing Tamil ponnu with Manirathnam, Lakshmi feels, will be a beautiful experience. She is comfortable conversing with Tamil and language would not be a barrier.
