Game shows losing steam Hyderabad: Seems like some of game shows beamed by various channels are losing steam and are failing the expectations of the viewers.
To start with Star Mahila is on the slide after completing its 1,000 episodes. The anchor is putting in all her efforts and also shakes a leg, but show fails to enthuse viewers as before.
Though there is no major change in the format, post 1,000 shows, it is a difficult task to hold on to the daily show for too long.
They must be running out of ideas, research team may flaw, producers and directors must be finding it difficult to attract the viewers to this women's show for this long.
There is another show on a different channel, at almost the same time, which offers to show lots of gold, gambling and glamour against the balloons, star quiz and ridiculous games here.
The other day in the New Year participants who made it to the top on Paadutaa Teeyaga team, all studying class ten on Intermediate were called in for the episode and the winner was declared Star Balika.
Another channel which beams Lucku Kikku in the prime time is still to pick up. The energy levels and high voltage smile of the anchor notwithstanding, the show fails to move forward.
The senior anchor is having fun but it is the viewers who should be having fun. As it was timed properly with little or no competition, the TRP ratings may fail the actual potential of the show.
The same channel beams another game show which has a very unconvincing course. The show is set in Yamalokam where celebrities are punished for their sins with Chitragupta playing the tramp.
The young women are given punishments like eating onions and the like as penance. A ridiculous menu runs throughout the programme. Much was spent on costumes, sets and props but the outcome is not matching.
Adurs and Super try to scare the sensitive nerve of the viewers. The feats, programmed or otherwise, are not good in terms of entertainment.
Paadutaa Teeyaga too lost its vigour, though it is in the preliminary and elimination round. The reason could be the age factor of the participants or the fatigue factor.
Wow is still running with some interest. Genes too has a good participatory methodology and has an element of entertainment though the anchor needs to put in more effort.
There are other sing and dance shows but not up to the competitive mark. The judges and participants are hyper active and the age of the participants sometimes forces people to comment.
