Puri going Varma way Hyderabad: Director Puri Jagnnath is going the Ram Gopal Varma way. Puri, who directed Amitabh-starrer Budda Hoga Tera Baap comes from the Varma school, no wonder he got some of his whims though in streaks.
After the success of Businessman, he said that he will be doing sequel to the film and it will start this year-end. Obviously Mahesh Babu will be the hero.
RGV was known for announcing sequels, Sarkar and Sarkar ki Raj materiaised. Rakta Charita was the other he announced along with some others.
Sequel or a series need to have a story line and in Businessman, you have only Mahesh Babu. Everything revolves him and the film is a commercial success and if that is the yardstick to measure good films, well let wisdom prevail on film makers.
Mahesh still has steam and if Puri uses it in the proper way and tag a storyline, which is convincing alongside his usual violence and one-liners to demean others, It will go beyond collections.
Releasing a film in every available theatre during festival season with little or no competition and blowing up the trumpet of a commercial success will convince only the mercantile part of the project but not the qualitative part.
Meanwhile, the heroine Kajol is said to have been on a signing spree in the remake of the film in various languages.
