Billa 2' to be dubbed into Telugu
Chennai: After shaking the Kollywood box office with 'Mankatha' last year (Gambler in Telugu), Ajith Kumar starrer 'Billa 2' which is in its post production will now be dubbed into Telugu.
The film, one of the costliest ever to be made in south India will see Ajith sharing screen space with Parvathy Omanakuttan, Huma Qureshi and Bruna Abdullah.
It is a prequel to 'Billa' which was a runaway hit in Tamil Nadu and was remade with the same name in Telugu with Prabhas in the lead. The prequel is said to focus on how David, an ordinary man from the coastal regions of South Tamil Nadu, becomes 'Billa', a dreaded underworld don, with Ajith Kumar reprising the role of the titular character.
Reports also have it that the original 'Billa' girl Nayantara might be playing a cameo role in the film though it isn't confirmed yet.
Director Vishnu Vardhan was to helm the prequel too but as he got busy with his project with Pawan Kalyan, 'Panjaa', he opted out of the project only to be replaced by Chakri Toleti who earlier wielded the megaphone for 'Eenadu'. The film is set to release on Ajith's birthday, May 1, 2012.
