Teja's 'Neeku Naaku - -' set for Ugadi release Hyderabad: Directors Teja and B Jaya have a point or to prove with their fresh outings, 'Neeku Naaku Dash Dash' (NNDD) and 'Lovely'.
Tollywood grapevine has it that both films are set out to clash with each other come this March 23, on the occasion of Telugu New Year Ugadi.
While both are love stories, 'Lovely' has created enough buzz thanks to its cast and producer BA Raju, while on the other hand Teja has hardly publicised his fresh outing.
The maker who vowed not to return to direction if 'Keka' (his last film) flopped, is directing a film after a long time. He roped in the cast of the film after conducting a talent hunt and his technical crew are also first timers.
The film produced by Anand Prasad on Bhavya Creations is maintaining absolute secrecy over its filming. 'NNDD' is touted to be a love story with money chain of the liquor trade as a backdrop. It is said to focus on the dirty underbelly of the trade.
Meanwhile, Rana's 'Naa Ishtam' has also booked its place for March 23. So three movies on Ugadi might be a good idea for audience but is it the same for the industry which has a less success ratio?
But, considering the postponements of Telugu films off late, perhaps one or the other film will back out in the last minute.
