The anatomy of a lie retold Hyderabad: If someone says Sania Mirza and family earned more money outside tennis or Murali Mohan was more successful as realtor than an actor we need not rush into an argument. For that matter Ram Gopal Varma is always in the news, for the wrong reasons, is also no more news.
How such things get into print or how he manages to get into the eye of controversy is a curious proposition, though it lost its way midway.
First tweet a controversial line, let his followers and their followers know, some website of paper or a channel picks it up. Arrange for an interview. At least one channel is still interested in giving him time and also shift to phone-in mode.
The interview timings are also tweeted to make sure that people may act according to their preferences and then repeats the same action, Rakta Charita, Bezawada and now Reddy garu Poyaru.
Funniest part is RGV asking the caller as to why you are thinking that way, how you know that I am going to do this or not going to do that and so on goes the debate.
The intended mileage for the film is achieved with 30 minutes of the television time going for the one-sided discussion and triggering the much needed hype for the film.
All this hardly work as we have seen Rakata Cahrita, Appala Raju, Bezawada and other films. Now he kicked off another row with Reddy garu Poyaru.
How many Reddys have poyaru, Mr RGV, while in office starting from Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy on to Kasu Brahmananda Reddy to Channa Reddy, Kotla Vijyabhaskara Reddy and YS Rajasekhara Reddy? Why there was an appointment with KVP Ramachandra Rao and to whom was he very close with?
Still RGV says, Reddy is only a name and why should you draw any inference; fine no one is bothered about what RGV films, the quality, content or ethics or arrogance, misplaced or otherwise. He has the liberty to be foolish or snobbish or whatever he feels or whatever he likes to be.
What is objectionable is the way he talks to the caller asking him what the caller is thinking of his film, or why should he think that way. Film industry is known for its secrecy. Only when the film is ready for release, things come out.
Here it is totally different. First comes the statement then the script, if there needs to be one, followed by controversies till the release and then the quiet burial.
All said and done RGV has the right to be whatever he wants to be and can function in the way he intends to be but not at the cost of someone's sentiments, he has done it recently, or by kicking up unwanted dust.
If you are a good film maker spend more time on making films not on some unproductive means. Now don't ask how do I know that it is unproductive? Sir, I have every reason to have my own opinion which need not be in concord with yours or others like you.
