Sirivennela felicitated in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Kalavedika, a social and cultural organisation, in association with 'Sirivennela Tarangalu', felicitated renowned cine lyricist Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry on completion of his 25 years of journey through cinema in the city on Saturday on a grand note.
Speakers heaped praise on Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry who won Nandi awards 10 times for his lyrics in Telugu movies.
Sitarama Sastry debuted with writing songs for K Viswanath's Sirivennela. The songs in the movie were so phenomenally popular that the name of this movie got tagged to his given name.
The songs of this movie were wonderful and rich in meaning that each of the songs was remembered to this day as landmarks in Telugu film music, said speakers.
Director K Viswanadh, playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, Satya Rao, Minister for Investments, Infrastructure and Ports Ganta Srinivasa Rao, MLA Dronamraju Srinivas, Commissioner of Police J Purnachandra Rao and Joint Collector Girija Sankar were among those who spoke on the occasion. Sadguru Kandukuri Sivananda Murty graced the occasion.
