Vidya shows the way for many
Hyderabad: Vidya Balan has shown the way and many seem to be following to take up challenging and women oriented roles.

In Tollywood there were films with women carrying out the show, but now the market has gone into the hands of hero worshipers and directors who write punch lines and demean women.
Not a single Telugu girl is in the lead role and dubbing artistes are in great demand. Ose Ramulamma is a historic character and after Vijayashanti and the death of Soundarya all the present day films need is a good looking girl to run around the boy with the minimum possible dress and such people are plenty.
A few films must have come but not to the desired level. Top actors, producers and directors are busy launching and trying to establish their kin at any cost, so where does the question of a Telugu girl standing up and running the show.
Telugu as official language and classical status argument is always there, only for argument sake.
Colours Swathi did well in Ashta Chamma, a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Guddie or as some people claim, the adaptation of Oscar Wild's The Importance of Being Earnest. After that, it is a blank.
