DRDO Officer stabbed by thief near Charminar Hyderabad, June 22 (INN) A senior official of the Koraput based DRDO was stabbed by a thief near Charminar on Sunday afternoon. His condition is stated to be out of danger, doctors treating him said.
The official R. K. Satyapathi, came to the city to attend a three day seminar the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in the city. On Sunday the official along with his colleagues came for sightseeing and shopping at the Charminar.
As they were walking near charminar and a teenage boy snatched a mobile phone from one of them. On noticing it Mr. Satpathi shouted for help and chased the boy along with a few locals. He caught the boy after chasing for some time and was taking him to hand him over to police he whipped out a sharp object and attacked him and fled away,' DCP (South) Sarvashresth Tripathi said.
The official was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital where the doctors treated him. The police have formed special teams to nab the offender who is believed to be a whitener addict and was earlier arrested in a snatching case. 'We will nab him soon,' the DCP said.
