Visakhapatnam: A three day National and International awards festival 2025 being organised by the Mana American Telugu Association (MATA) of United States began on a grand note at Alluri Vignana Kendram in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
A special programme was organised on the first day to celebrate the birth centenary of Sri Sathya Saibaba. Five eminent personalities were given Idol Gandharva Award in recognition of their service.

Idol Gandharva awards were presented to Former Vice Chancellor of Nagarjuna University Prof V Balamohan Das, Dr KVS Murthy, Chatla Babu Rao, Pantula Lalitha, Maisa Erranna, and Muddada Swati Jagan. Lok Nayak Foundation chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, film actress Roja Ramani and Daspalla group MD M Raghavendra Rao were the chief guests presented the awards.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Lakshmi Prasad appreciated the organisers for integrating literature and music at the felicitation programme. He also lauded services of singer Sarat Chandra. MATA's representative and Honorary Advisor Damu Gedala gave a detailed account of activities of MATA.
Roja Ramani appreciated MATA activities. MATA representatives P Nageswara Rao, B Srimannarayana, Lakshmnarayana and Rambabu were present. Madhu Anna, President of New Jersey, USA based Telugu Fine Arts Society (TFAS) is also present at the grand occasion.
