Andhra Pradesh inks seven MoUs at India AI Impact Summit MoUs are expected to pave way for developing AP as a Quantum-AI hub
New Delhi: As part of the initiative to develop Amaravati as a Quantum Valley, the state government signed seven memorandums of understandings (MoUs) at the India AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Friday.

The MoUs, signed with several leading organisations, including IBM were formalised in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The seven MoUs are expected to pave way for developing AP as a Quantum-AI hub, bringing national and international recognition to the Quantum Valley in Amaravati and strengthening the AI-Quantum ecosystem in the state.
The government will also provide training to students and youth in AI and Quantum technologies to prepare them for future technological demands. The state is primarily focusing on leveraging AI and Quantum technologies in government departments and using technology to simplify public service delivery.
The state government signed an MoU with the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) to establish a Centre of Excellence in Quantum and AI. As per the MoU, an AI-Quantum Centre of Excellence will be set up in Amaravati Quantum Valley by the end of this year.
The agreement will help develop the Centre of Excellence as an AI-Quantum Digital Embassy. UNICC Director Sameer Chauhan and representatives of the organisation attended the signing ceremony.
Likewise the government signed an MoU with IBM to train one lakh youth in the state in Quantum, AI, and Cyber security. IBM agreed to provide training through its global digital learning platform, focusing on skills required by the IT industry. This initiative is part of IBM's objective to prepare a future-ready tech workforce in India. IBM India MD Sandeep Patel, South Asia Executive Director Kishore Balaji and IBM Research Labs Director Amit Singhee were present.
An MoU was signed with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) to establish a Quantum AI University in Andhra Pradesh. NIELIT plans to set up the first AI and Quantum deemed university campus in South India.
The Central government will provide funds for infrastructure, while the state government will provide land and quantum hardware. A roadmap has been prepared to develop Amaravati as a national hub for quantum computing. NIELIT Director General Dr Madan Mohan Tripathi, Controller General Dr Alok Tripathi and others attended the programme.
The state government also signed an MoU with Bharat Gen and NextGen IBM to build a state-level AI Tech Hub and a five-layered indigenous AI stack. The platform will provide services to various government institutions and support integration of 22 Indian languages. Bharat Gen CEO Hrishikesh Mohal, representative Ramakrishnan, NextGen CEO Rajagopal, and IBM Research Labs Director Amit Singhee participated in the event.
The government signed an MoU with Calibo AI to strengthen AI and Quantum technology across 50 higher education institutions in the state by establishing AI Academies and AI Sandboxes. The initiative will create innovation labs, promote awareness among graduate and postgraduate students, support faculty development and focus on AI-integrated curriculum and skill training. Raj Vattikuti, Arabindo Sahu, Vipul Valanji, Pinto Joyson, and Johannes Schroeder attended the MoU event.
The sixth MoU was signed with Wiser to establish a Centre of Excellence in Amaravati Quantum Valley. The agreement aims to train 3.5 lakh AI-Quantum learners by the end of this year and 6 lakh learners by 2027. Quantum Solutions Head Vardhan Sehgal and Raj Vattikuti's team participated in the signing ceremony.
The seventh and last MoU signed with IIT Madras to introduce an AI Tutor in Andhra Pradesh. The AI Tutor will be made available to students in both government and private schools across the state. IIT Madras Director Prof V Kamakoti and Prof Mitesh participated in the programme.
