100/100 for Team India

Before the beginning of World Cup Indian team has the strongest batting lineup. But the performance of batsmen in the tri-series deteriorated the hopes of the fans. Coming to bowling, it is one of the weakest among the test playing nations and fielding is also not up to the mark. But the first two matches in the world cup has completely changed the outlook of team India. The all round performance by the players in all the categories made them the title favorites.

Team India is the best fielding side in this world cup and it is official now. ICC mentioned that the catching rate of Indian team in this series is 100 percent. In the first two matches against Pakistan and South Africa Indian fielders have taken all the fifteen catches that were given to them safely. No other teams in the series including the best fielding sides New Zealand and South Africa could achieve that.

Coming to South Africa, which is said to be the best fielding side has left six catches in the two matches played. The batsmen who actually should get out has scored an excess 196 runs. Among these six catches, one is Shikhar Dhawan's. At 53 his catch is left by Amla. Later on he went on to make 137runs. NewZealand also left 5 catches. But the loss is comparatively low and the batsmen who got life has added only 29runs more. Australia left two catches and gave away 76 extra runs.

One of the best fielding side of Asia, Srilanka has left 16 catches, which is the highest in this series. Out of the 29 catches their fielders got, only 13 were caught by them. The players who received life from Srilanka have scored extra 237 runs. In this series the biggest loss in terms of catches is for England. Though they left only 5 catches, the loss was 284 runs, which took away a couple of matches from their hands. Bangladesh (7 catches- 135 runs), Pakistan (7 catches -135 runs), West Indies (10 catches -204 runs), Zimbabwe (3 catches - 220) also lost a lot because of their poor on field performance. In this case Indian team out performed all the other teams and scored 100/100 with out missing a single catch that was offered to them. Kudos team India..!
