Exit poll survey predicts Congress wave in Telangana municipal elections Counting of votes will be taken up on Feb 13
Hyderabad: The Congress party is likely to emerge victorious in the Telangana municipal elections, according to a People's Pulse exit poll survey. The survey predicts that the Congress will win 68-76 out of 116 municipalities and 5 out of 7 corporations.

The Congress is expected to dominate in municipalities like Mancherial, Ramagundam, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, and Kothagudem. The BJP is likely to win Karimnagar and Nizamabad corporations, while the AIMIM may play a kingmaker role in deciding the fate of Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Mahabubnagar corporations.
The BRS, the main opposition party, is expected to face a tough challenge, winning only 29-36 municipalities. The exit poll suggests that the Congress has strengthened its position in the state, while the BRS and BJP are struggling to maintain their presence.
According to exit poll survey the party-wise breakup will be as follows;
Ramagundam: Congress 30-34, BRS 16-20, BJP 3-6, Others 4-7
- Mancherial: Congress 39-43, BRS 8-12, BJP 6-9, Others 1-2
- Kothagudem: Congress 28-34, BRS 7-9, CPI 14-16, Others 2-4
- Mahabubnagar: Congress 26-30, BRS 18-22, BJP 6-8, AIMIM 2-4, Others 0-1
- Nalgonda: Congress 21-26, BRS 8-12, BJP 6-10, AIMIM 2-4, Others 1-2
- Nizamabad: Congress 10-16, BRS 2-4, BJP 26-31, AIMIM 8-12, Others 1-2
- Karimnagar: Congress 14-16, BRS 10-12, BJP 24-29, AIMIM 6-9, Others 1-3
Overall, the Congress is expected to win 68-76 municipalities, while the BRS may win 29-36, BJP 3-5, and AIMIM 0-1.
The election results are scheduled to be announced on February 13.
