The event, part of the "Aatavudupu" MLA-MLC Sports and Cultural Festival-2026, was held at the Anthellax Hall in Vijayawada, following the indefinite adjournment of the Assembly session.
Durgese's portrayal of Kattabomman was marked by his impressive dialogue delivery, regal demeanor, and authentic costume, earning him thunderous applause from the audience. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Assembly Speaker Ayannapattu, and other dignitaries praised Durgese's acting skills.
The minister's performance was part of a larger cultural program that showcased the talents of MLAs and MLCs. Durgese also announced plans to establish world-class theme parks in the state, citing ongoing discussions with companies like Imajica and Wonderla.
Durgesh has also emphasized preserving historic monuments and developing tourist infrastructure, including safari rides, boating, restaurants, and guest houses.
As Tourism Minister, Durgesh has been actively promoting Andhra Pradesh's tourism potential. He has attracted ₹10,644 crore investments in the tourism sector and signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with 103 companies. The government has also rolled out the new Tourism Policy 2024'29, offering benefits like capital incentives for investors and power tariff reimbursements.
