IIM conducts seminar on Advanced Metallic Materials Hyderabad, Aug 20 (INN): The National Seminar on 'Processing and Applications of Advanced Metallic Materials', organized by Mishara Dhatu Nigam Limited under the aegis of Indian Institute of Metals, Hyderabad Chapter, was held here on Thursday.
Around 150 delegates from research, academic institutions as well as manufacturing industries attended the seminar. Presentations were made by eminent personalities from the Industry, Research and academic institutions on Processing and applications of advanced metallic materials.
The technical sessions covered topics on Advanced metallic materials required for Defence, Aero space, Nuclear, Power plants viz High strength steels, Steels for Armour applications, Magnetic materials, Nickel/Cobalt base Super alloys. Also, the processing of these materials into various products with relevant applications will be dwelled in detail. The seminar is in line with the indigenization of materials towards 'Make In India'.

Narayana Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, MIDHANI, Dr. Amol A Gokhale, Chairman, IIM Hyderbad Chapter, Dr Dinesh Kumar Likhi, Director (Production & Marketing), MIDHANI and Venkata Krishnan, Dy Director, VSSC addressed the seminar.
