Jagan Congratulates Skyroot on Historic Vikram-1 Launch
Tadepalli, July 18, 2026: YSR Congress Party President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday congratulated Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of Vikram-1, India's first privately developed orbital launch vehicle, describing it as a landmark achievement for the nation's space sector.
In a message posted on his official Facebook account, Jagan said the successful launch of Vikram-1 marks a historic milestone in India's space journey and reflects the country's growing strength in science, technology, and innovation. He noted that the achievement showcases the extraordinary capabilities of India's scientists, engineers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, who continue to push the boundaries of technological excellence.
According to Jagan, the mission represents a significant step forward for India's rapidly expanding private space ecosystem. The former Chief Minister further said that the successful mission will inspire a new generation of innovators and strengthen India's position as a global leader in advanced space technology. He also extended his best wishes to the entire Skyroot Aerospace team for continued success in their future missions.
Jagan's congratulatory message comes after Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace successfully launched Vikram-1 under Mission Aagaman from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, making history by becoming the first private Indian company to develop and launch an orbital-class rocket.
