Lokesh, Son Devaansh Witness Historic Vikram-1 Launch
Sriharikota: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology and Electronics Nara Lokesh on Saturday witnessed the successful launch of Skyroot Aerospace's Vikram-1 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota along with his son Devaansh. The mission marked India's first privately developed orbital launch vehicle, creating a historic milestone for the country's growing private space sector.
Ahead of the launch, Lokesh shared a message on social media describing the visit as a memorable father-son experience while highlighting the significance of India's expanding private space industry. He said every great spacefaring nation began with a dream to innovate, build and push the boundaries of what was once considered impossible. He added that the day was about celebrating that spirit.
Lokesh praised Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace for demonstrating that an Indian private company could successfully build rockets, compete globally and help shape the future of space technology. He said the company's journey reflects the courage of Indian entrepreneurs to dream big and pursue extraordinary goals.
He further said that, regardless of the mission's outcome, the determination to innovate and attempt ambitious achievements is what truly drives a nation forward. Congratulating the scientists, engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs behind the mission, Lokesh said they are laying the foundation for India's future as a leading space power.
